How do you feel about your body? Do you love your body? Some people, especially women, are unhappy with some part of their bodies. They spend a lot of time criticizing their bodies. My stomach is big! My hips are too wide! I simply hate my body!

Some people not only share these thoughts with themselves, but share them with anyone who will listen. When you speak negatively about yourself and your body, you instill (灌输) negative thoughts that take away your confidence and self-worth. These thoughts can have a great impact on your goals, how you treat yourself, and how you feel about your body and yourself. Plus, you also open the door for others to speak negatively about you. So you not only have to fight with how you feel about yourself, but how others feel about you, as well.

Therefore, the next time those negative thoughts and comments come, replace them with those positive thoughts! For example, instead of saying my stomach is big, try saying something positive like, “I wish my stomach was flatter but I have some shapely legs”.

If you’re still having a hard time to give your body love and appreciation it needs, then consider how much work your body puts in for you. You may hate your arms but they can give the tightest hugs to your children. The next time you talk negatively about your legs, think about those who don’t have legs at all. An attitude of gratitude is so important!

Start your morning by looking in the mirror and telling yourself how beautiful you are. From your head to your toes and every part of it, you are beautiful. Today is the day when you accept, appreciate and love your body — you only get one!
